The Australian government continues supporting United States and Israeli acts of war

It seems the Australian government’s support for the American attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities is strengthening, regardless of words about the need for negotiation. in the same way it has used words about humanitarian aid to Gaza, while continuing to give diplomatic and material cover to for Israel’s industrial scale slaughter of children, women, and men. This is from a government headed by a Prime Minister who once marched in the streets in support of Palestinian rights.

Calling out this duplicity is important, for it underlies a depth of political opportunism and personal gain over morality. Anthony Albanese can never say he never knew. But it is not only one man’s or one government’s fault. Australian government has acted as a vassal of the United States for a long time. This was made perfectly clear when Washington became a key player in the coup against the 1975 Labour Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, using a network of agents on the CIA payroll. Whitlam and his government had tried to chart an independent path.

No Australian government has ever deviated from the wishes of Uncle Sam since. They just do as their told. The Albanese government is no different, and don’t go looking for something else from the Coalition. It is an assault on the idea that we live in a democracy, defined in terms of the people of Australia being the voice that governs our nation.

Australia is dotted with a series of military installations. Many of them are involved in the communication network, spying, and guidance of the United States military. This means that Australia has been involved in assisting the Israeli army carry out the Gaza holocaust. Australia has been directly involved in delivering missiles to Iran. Australia has been directly involved in the breaking of international nuclear laws and conventions, the rules of war, and the commitment of crimes against humanity.

The use of American B-52s and B2 fighter bombers and delivering missiles to Iran’s’ nuclear facilities required the involvement of Australia based communication and guidance input. Thios is for.an action that international law experts have described as unlawful under the UN charter.

The most important of these communication installations is Pine Gap near Alice Springs. The Australian based International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which won the Nobel Peace prize for its efforts, is warning Australia that an escalation toward nuclear war will make Australia a target.

The government remains tight-lipped about this form of involvement. “We are upfront, but we don’t talk about intelligence,” Anthony Albanese told reporters when asked about it. The silence speaks volumes. Involvement will continue in a world of rising tensions and increasing danger, unless enough is done to bring this complicity to an end.
